Invited by AlterSolutions, we were challenged to implement a solution based on our reference CMS (Umbraco) for their client InformaDB. InformaDB was essentially looking to solve two main problems:
Outdated website: its website was supported by very old technology and had no optimisation for mobile devices.
High dependency on the IT and Development department: any change, no matter how simple, required the marketing department to rely on the IT and Development team.
When the core business of this company is the creation of financial and statistical reports, “stealing” time from the IT and Development departments always means delaying or complicating new products or improvements to existing ones.
InformaDB chose Umbraco for its ease of use, security, and cost (100% free, as it is open-source software). In addition, the fact that it is a CMS with strong recognition in Europe, as well as having a large community that works daily to deliver an increasingly robust and reliable product, made the decision easy. Taking into account our extensive experience with this CMS, we created a set of reusable components that now give the marketing team full autonomy, thus relieving InformaDB’s development and IT teams. This made the process of updating and creating website content simple, without limiting the marketing team’s capabilities.
In addition to the CMS implementation itself, the InformaDB search API was also integrated, allowing website users to search for companies and view their summary profiles, thereby boosting lead generation for the sales team.
Another key feature is the integration with Windows Active Directory and the easy integration with the load balancing system.
